Dieting is a unique experience for each individual. In my case, I found out that dieting works best if I do it with someone else. The dieting buddy system gives me comfort and assurance that weight loss is not an exclusive burden for me. I don’t feel alone in my weight loss journey.

I enjoy how I can talk with another person about a certain diet menu. We can swap recipes, tricks, and frustrations. Comparing weight loss progress, we work together towards a common goal.

So I guess for some people, dieting works best with peer power. Being around a group of people with a common goal can really help. We all eat the same food and no one can tempt anyone to sway away from the goal.

I also encountered a group of power walkers in the park and later on discovered that they were close friends who were doing the exercise to lose weight. According to one of them, the system works because they can help and encourage one another.

In the gym,  I also found some people who who workout together. They make sure to spend some time in the gym instead of eating in a coffee shop. They find the workout time more productive than walking around the mall or chatting in a coffee shop. All of these are peer groups who hang out in the gym regularly.

Then there is a group of young moms who are into some aerobic and belly dancing. I have really discovered a lot of groups who take some time to sweat it out. It seems it is more fun to lose weight with friends.

However, there is also a downside to these diet peer groups. Once exercise time is over, there might be a temptation to eat out as a group as well. There is no doubt that eating with friends is fun but there should always be some prudence in choosing the right kind of food to take in. It would be a total waste to pig out after a good workout.

The bottom line is when it comes to losing weight, stick with what works. As for me, I feel better that I am with a buddy who can encourage and help me stay away from temptation. But with a group or not, it is best to check out the healthier and safer ways to shed the pounds

  • I learned about this from a girlfriend of mine. She has been on it for a while and has been very successful. When she had me taste some of the meals, I thought they were good. So now, we’re both on the same weight loss program. I think it’s fun 🙂

  • I thought it was going to be hard finding a friend that’s willing to go along with me on a weight loss program. But when two of my girlfriends got to taste some of my cheese bites from Medifast, they got curious about the program. Soon enough, they also signed up. I find it easier to stick to this weight loss program now that I have some friends that I can talk to about it.

  • I figured, if my girlfriends and I could spend so much time shopping and eating together, we could also spend some time getting back into shape.

  • My office mates and I are all on Medifast. We support each other to stay on Medifast.

  • Losing weight is never easy. There’ll be frustrating moments. It’s important to get support from the people who understand what your’e going through. Words of encouragement matter. A good support is from someone who will let you achieve your goal.

  • For some people who can’t seem to get any support from friends and families, Medifast offers great support. You can always find someone from Medifast who can help you stay on track. That’s very important when you’re trying to lose weight.

  • It’s hard to lose weight when there’s no support from friends and family.

    • You said it! It’s especially hard when they tempt you to eat something you’re trying to avoid.

  • I learned about Medifast from my best friend. She had gotten into the program and could not stop raving about the snacks. She was changing her eating habits and I was impressed. I was finally convinced to get on the program when I got to taste the snacks. Now, we are both on Medifast. It’s easy to stay on it because we support each other.

  • Unfortunately, there will always be someone who will blatantly say you’re fat. It may be a friend but it’s better not to mind it. If you’re trying to lose weight, choose the people you hang out with. It’s best to be with positive people.

  • My friends and I have a jogging time. This is also our bonding time.

  • It really helps to have a great support system specially when you need to lose weight. My girlfriends and I try to support each other.

  • My friends and I were able to lose weight with Medifast. The good think about it was that we never had to skip any meals.

  • It’s really hard to diet when everybody else around you is not. It would be nice if I had a friend who was also dieting.
